Chicken Hearts in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg chicken hearts
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2-3 cups water
  • 6 tbs oil
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • small piece of cinnamon stick (about 1/2 inch), optional

Instructions

In pot, heat oil and simmer onions and chicken hearts until brown. Add tomato sauce and water. Add seasoning and bring to a boil. Boil for about 30 minutes or longer (until sauce is as thick as you want it). Serve it over plain boiled rice. This recipe also works with giblets or a combination of both.
