Cooking Rice Microwave

Ingredients

  • 2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 cup long grain rice

Instructions

In 1-1/2 quart microwave container, heat water and butter to boiling, about 5 minutes at full power. Slowly add long grain rice. (Water may boil over if you add it too fast.) Microwave 20 minutes at 50 percent power setting (for 700-watt microwave -- adjust power for yours). Stir and let stand about 5 minutes before serving.
