Pole Pies

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury popping fresh cresent rolls or similar
  • Cooking oil
  • Your favorite canned pie fillings or puddings
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

Get a 4' long wooden dowl for each person at the camp fire (A piece of closet pole is 1-1/4" diametera from the local lumber yard). Sand one end to round the edges. Clean the pole after sanding. Wipe oil on about 4" of the rounded end of pole. Take a piece of cresent dough and wrap it around the end of your pole and up the side (try to keep it thin and tight with now holes). Hold your pole over the camp fire (very carefully) toast till golden brown, paying attention and turning often. When baked, slide it of the end of the pole (this is were you find out if you used enough oil) and fill with your favorite pie filling and top with whipped cream. The poles get better with lots of practice.
