Dolma

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chopped lamb
  • 1 cup minced celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • boiled cabbage and grape leaves
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • salt/pepper
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 cup minced yellow onion
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 chopped bell pepper
  • juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Mix together lamb, rice, celery, onion, salt, pepper, cilantro and garlic. Wrap mixture in leaves. Melt butter in pot. Arrange stuffed cabbage and grape leaves in pot and cover with tomato sauce, bell pepper, water and lemon juice. Cook 1 hour, uncovered over high heat and 1 hour covered over low heat.
