Kartoffelknoedel

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 50 gram semolina
  • plain flour as needed
  • salt

Instructions

Peel the potatoes, chop them up and boil until soft. Mash them immediately and add the egg, salt and enough flour to make a dough. Roll dumplings (about the size of billiard ball) and cook in plenty saltwater for about 10 minutes until they swim (the water should not be boiling wildly once the dumplings are in there). Potato dumplings are especially good with game and pork roast.
