Homemade Orange Sherbet

Ingredients

  • 1 large orange (about 3", or 7.5 cm, in diameter)
  • 1 T (15 ml) lemon juice (or more if needed)
  • 2 T (14 g) powdered sugar (or more if needed)

Instructions

Peel the orange, break it into slices, then cut the slices into thirds or fourths. Freeze the orange bits on a flat tray or plate for 2-3 hours. When the orange pieces are frozen through, remove them from the freezer and place them in the food processor. Pulse the food processor about ten times, then let it run. Add the lemon juice and powdered sugar. When the oranges have turned to an icy mush, taste the sherbet. Add more lemon juice or powdered sugar to adjust the taste as you see fit.
