Fried Fish Balls

Fried Fish Balls make a delectable appetizer - just pair with cocktail sauce and serve! This simple recipe is a quick and easy party dish that yields about five dozen fried fish croquettes, perfect for a small or large get-together.

Ingredients

  • 3 pound freshwater trout fillets, cooked and flaked
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon spicy brown mustard
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • vegetable oil
  • cocktail sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine first 11 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix well.
     
  2. Shape into 1-inch balls.
     
  3. Fry croquettes in 2-inch deep hot oil (370 degrees F) until golden brown.
     
  4. Drain on paper towels.
     
  5. Serve immediately with cocktail sauce.
