Ginger Beer

Ingredients

  • 8 sultanas
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pulp
  • 4 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 cup water

Instructions

Put all ingredients together in a sealed jar for two days. Then, to keep it alive, add 2 tsp. ginger and 4 tsp. sugar every two days. To make beer: Pour 4 cups boiling water onto 4 cups of sugar, stir until dissolved. Add the juice of four lemons, and the ginger beer plant, strained through cheesecloth. Add 28 cups of cold water and bottle and keep at least three days before using. To keep the plant alive, halve the drained plant and put half in a jar and add two cups of cold water and feed for one week before using again.
