Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 3 cup pared and sliced cooking apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine

Instructions

Wash, pare and slice apples. Place into 7-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and cinnamon. Pour water in at one side. Drizzle with lemon juice. In another bowl measure flour, sugar and oats and mix together. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until the size of peas. Turn out over apples and pat down firmly. Bake at 350F. for 1 hour. Serve hot.
