Sarah's Sour Cream Cupcakes

This recipe comes straight from Sarah, an amazing source of homemade cupcake recipes. With its full creamy flavor, this cupcake will be sure to please. This is a fluffy and moist cupcake recipe and it's also so simple to make. There is nothing more delicious than a sour cream cupcake, Sarah always says.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon creamed shortening
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/8 teaspoon mace

Instructions

  1. Cream the shortening, sugar, and eggs together until light and fluffy.
     
  2. Dissolve the soda into the sour cream.
     
  3. Sift the flour, salt, cream of tartar, and mace together.
     
  4. Mix with the first mixture and beat together.
     
  5. Bake in a greased cupcake pan or you can use foil wraps at 400 degrees F for 15 - 20 minutes.
