Walnut Crescents

Make up this quick and easy cookie recipe for a last minute bring to a dinner party or holiday event. So delicious, these Walnut Crescents melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon water
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup black walnuts, chopped very fine
  • powdered sugar for rolling in

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, shortening and sugar well. mix in water and vanilla then the flour and nuts.
     
  2. Chill dough 3 to 4 hours. Form dough into long rolls about 1/2 inch across.
     
  3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
     
  4. Cut dough into 3 inch lengths. Shape into a crescent.
     
  5. Bake on a ungreased cookie sheet 325 degrees F for 15 minutes. Do not let them brown.
     
  6. Cool slightly and turn in powdered sugar.
