All American Chocolate Chunk Cookies

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why mess with All-American Chocolate Chunk Cookies when theyre just so good? I find that the best way to make new friends is to whip up a batch of classic chocolate chip cookies and share them, so go share the love!

About 3 dozen cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter; softened
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Prehear oven to 375 degrees F.
     
  2. Beat the butter and sugars together in a mixing bowl until creamy.
     
  3. Break the eggs into the bowl and beat it into the mixture until smooth. Then add the vanilla extract and mix it in.
     
  4. Add the flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda to the mixture, a little at a time, and stir everything together well.
     
  5. Now add the chocolate chunks and stir them in until they are evenly spread through the cookie mixture.
     
  6. Grease your cookie sheets and drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the sheet, spaced an inch and a half apart.
     
  7. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until they are an even golden brown colour, then move them on to a wire rack to cool.
