Classic Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

"I think the classic recipes tend to be the best, and Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies is one of the truly classic recipes that almost everyone can agree on. It’s hard to find someone that doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies, the real debate is whether to add nuts or not. Although in my family there isn’t really a debate here, always add nuts! Just like a lot of other great recipes and inventions, Toll House cookies were an accident. Ruth Wakefield discovered her now famous recipe for Toll House Cookies in 1939 when she decided to break off chunks of chocolate Nestle Semi Sweet Chocolate bar into her cookie dough. She named the cookie after the Toll House Inn that she owned and operated with her husband in Massachusetts."
