Good Old Fashoined Chili

My Grandpa used to say there's nothing like a good bowl of chili in the morning, afternoon and night. Good Old Fashioned Chili is his recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation of chili lovers. This simple chili recipe is a must.

Ingredients

  • 3 pound ground meat
  • 2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley, minced
  • 4 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 jalapenos, minced with seeds, or to taste
  • 4 red serranos, minced with seeds, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoon dried bell pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon dried celery flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef boullion granules
  • 1/3 cup chili powder
  • 1/2 cup paprika
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon white pepper, or to taste
  • 2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 2 can tomato paste
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 3 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown meat with garlic, onion and salt in a large pot.

  2. Add parsley, jalapeno and serranos. Stir. Add dried spices/boullion and stir well.

  3. Mix in tomato paste and water.

  4. Simmer for several minutes then stir in the can of refried beans (if there are any whole beans, run beans through a food processor or blender so none appear present in the chili).  Simmer for several hours.  Serve when you're ready.
