Family Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced green chilies
  • 1 can (12-ounce) tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup diced celery (1 stalk)
  • 2 can (29-ounce) tomato sauce
  • 3 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 29 ounce can kidney beans (with liquid)
  • 3 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin seed
  • 1 can (29-ounce) pinto beans (with liquid)
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
     
  2. Drain off fat.
     
  3. Using a fork, crumble the beef into pea-sized pieces.
     
  4. In a large pot, combine the beef with all the remaining ingredients.
     
  5. Bring to a simmer over low heat.
     
  6. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours.
