Best Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori Chicken also known as "King of Kebab", is the best known Indian delicacy and the tastiest way to BBQ with chicken recipes. This authentic Indian recipe is pretty easy to make and pairs great with some rice pilaf.

Notes

Juicy and delicious Tandoori Chicken is now ready to be served. Garnish it with coriander leaves, onion rings and lime slice.


It tastes best when served with Mint Chutney.

Cooking Time25 min

Ingredients

  • 1/2 chicken (with bones, cross cut)
  • 4 1/2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 4 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 100 gram Hung Yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala and cumin seeds powder, combined
  • salt to taste

Instructions

To make Hung Yogurt:

  1. Tie the yogurt in a cloth and hang it for about 10 minutes so that the water drains off it and we get a thick yogurt.

To make first marinade for chicken:

  1. In the lemon juice, add half quantity of ginger garlic paste, salt, paprika powder and mix well.

To make the second marinade for chicken:

  1. In the hung yoghurt, add the remaining ginger garlic paste, garam masala & cumin seeds powder and mix well.

Marinating the chicken:

  1. In a bowl, add the chicken, the first marinade and rub it well so that the marinade soaks into it.
     
  2. Keep it in the marination for 15 minutes.
     
  3. Add the second marinade into the chicken and mix well.
     
  4. Keep this chicken to be marinated for 4 hours.

To cook chicken:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 F for 10 minutes.
     
  2. Place the chicken in a baking tray and grill it at 180 C for 10 minutes.
     
  3. Remove after 10 minutes and turn the other side of the chicken and grill it for another 15 minutes.
