Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 16 ounce stewed tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. In a skillet, brown beef and onions. Drain off fat. Transfer to a greased two quart casserole dish.
     
  3. Add tomatoes, garlic, green pepper, rice, water, Worchestershire sauce, salt and pepper and mix.
     
  4. Cover and bake for 1 hour or until rice is tender.
     
  5. Uncover and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
