Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts, divided
  • 2 (4-ounce) package chocolate instant pudding
  • 3 cup milk
  • 12 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (16-ounce) tub frozen whipped topping, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray the bottom of a 9 x 13 bake dish.

  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the butter, flour, and half of the walnuts until well combined. Lightly press into the bottom of the prepared bake dish.

  3. Bake 10 minutes or until the crust looks slightly dry on top. Let cool while preparing the filling layers.

  4. In a medium bowl, combine the pudding mix with the milk until thickened. In another bowl, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar and half of the whipped topping mix, stirring until smooth and well mixed.

  5. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust. Stir the chocolate mixture and carefully spoon it in an even layer over the cream cheese mixture. Top with the remaining whipped topping and sprinkle with the remaining walnuts.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator overnight before cutting to serve.
