A new monarch deserves a new recipe! When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953, Coronation Chicken was all the rage. Now, 70 years later, her son King Charles is about to be crowned King of England. To celebrate this historic occasion, the royal family has released a new dish: Coronation Quiche!

This delicious quiche recipe features a crisp, light pastry and the delicate flavors of spinach, tarragon, and broad beans. The perfect dish to serve at breakfast or lunch, everyone will feel like celebrating when they have a slice of this!

Ingredients

  • Pastry
  • 125 gram plain flour/all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 25 gram cold butter, diced
  • 25 gram lard
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • OR 1 250g block of ready-made shortcrust pastry
  • Filling
  • 125 milliliter milk
  • 175 milliliter double cream
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 100 gram grated cheddar cheese
  • 180 gram cooked spinach, lightly chopped
  • 60 gram cooked broad beans or soya beans
