Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon yeast
  • 3 cup white bread flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Instructions

Measure ingredients into bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough or manual setting. When cycle is completed, remove the dough from the machine and either shape as desired., or wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for up to 24 hrs..(If refrigerated, let set out for about 45 min to a hr before using) The easiest shape to make is to just divide the dough into equal parts and roll into balls in your hand..Place on a lightly greased baking sheet (or in a muffin tin, but this gives them a harder crust) Cover shaped dough with damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes or until doubled in size. Bake in preheated 400\xba F oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Brush tops with butter or margarine. Other shapes: Knots: Roll each piece into "sticks" about 6 inches long. Tie into knots.Place on greased sheet. Cloverleaf: Form dough into 1 in. balls. Place 3 balls in greased muffin cup. { I just read to Dip each ball into melted butter..your choice } Parker House: roll dough out 1/4 in thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Brush with melted butter , crease center with knife and fold over. Press edges together and place on greased baking sheet. Sticks: roll dough into 6 in. long rods. Place on greased sheet. Brush with melted butter (or garlic butter) and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.(if desired)
