Aku Poki

Aku Poki is a Hawaiian take on sushi. Though this dish requires some prep time, no cooking is necessary; assemble everything the night before and throw a no-fuss Hawaiian dinner party.

Notes

Swordfish or octopus can be used instead, but with octopus, omit soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raw tuna
  • 1/2 soy sauce
  • 1 finger ginger, grated
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 2 stalks scallions
  • 1 dried chili (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. sesame oil

Instructions

1.Cut up fish into small pieces. Cut scallions into small pieces. Chop onion finely.

2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and marinate for half a day (or minimum 4 - 5 hours). Serve raw.
