Tomato Paste

Ingredients
  • 5 pounds ripe tomatoes
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 1 c dark brown sugar
  • seasoned salt
  • celery salt
Instructions

Yield: 4 Jars. Dip tomatoes in boiling water and refresh. Peel. Melt butter and stir in sugar. Chop tomato flesh and add to butter. Season to taste with salts, and cook over very gentle heat, stirring regularly, until the misture has reduced to a thick paste. Bettle in sterilized jars and process in boiling water bath for 1 hours.
