Seasoned Ground Beef

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onions (about 2 medium)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions

Brown meat; add onions and garlic and cook slowly till tender. Skim off excess fat if needed. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 15-20 minutes or until very hot. Pack hot into hot jars, leaving 1-inch headspace. Adjust caps. Process pints 1 hour and 15 minutes, quarts 1 hour and 30 minutes at 10 pounds pressure. Yield: about 5 pints
