Pickled Turnips

Ingredients
  • 1 quart turnips, peeled and cut into pieces
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mixed pickling spices
  • 1 red pepper pod
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled
  • 1 tsp salt
Instructions

Pack the turnips into a sterilized jar. Mix remaining ingredients and pour cold over turnips. Seal. Let stand for 1 month. Chill thoroughly before serving.
