Pickled Onions

Ingredients
  • 450g onions
  • 570 milliliters water
  • 50g salt
  • 385ml vinegar
  • 3/4 tsp mixed pickling spice
Instructions

You need to start 2 days before you want to pickle by placing the onions in a bowl then mix the water and salt together and pour over onions and leave them covered with a cloth for 2 days. When you're ready to pickle, bring the vinegar and spice to simmering point in pan and then leave to get cold. Put the peeled onions in jar and pour over the vinegar and spices. Seal tightly and leave in a cool place for 1 month before eating.
