24 Hour Dills

In a full day, you can make delicious dill pickles from scratch. Homemade pickles are the tastiest pickles, and this recipe shows you how to make pickles right at home.

Ingredients
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 6 stalks fresh dill weed
  • 6 cloves peeled garlic
  • 2 3/4 pounds cucumbers, with ends trimmed
Instructions
  1. Boil water, vinegar and salt. Place in large crock or jar.
     
  2. Layer dill, garlic and cucumbers.
     
  3. Pour boiling syrup over all and let stand for 24 hours then refrigerate.
