Cola Basted Ham

This homemade cola recipe for basted ham is amazing. The sweetness of the cola goes perfectly with the ham. This will be a new family favorite. Try it out if you're willing to be adventurous with your cooking!

Serves: 30

Cooking Time: 35 min

Ingredients
  • 1 ham
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup dry fine bread crumbs
  • 12 ounces Coca Cola
  • Cloves
Instructions
  1. Cook ham accordingly until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
     
  2. When cool enough to handle, pull off skin. Mix brown sugar, mustard and bread crumbs. Coat top of ham.
     
  3. Score and stud with cloves. Pour Coca-Cola around ham; cover and bake at 400 degrees F for approximately 35 minutes.
     
  4. Baste with liquid every 15 minutes. Let ham set for 30 minutes before carving or cover with waxed paper and cool.
     
  5. Cold ham slices better than hot. 15 pound ham can serve 30 people.
