Million Dollar Pie

If you're looking for pie recipes that taste like a million bucks, try this one for Million Dollar Pie! Rich in flavor and oh-so-easy to make, this is one of those no bake pies that you'll find yourself making all summer long. Serve it to your family or to party guests just once, and they'll be begging you to make it again and again. The key to the addicting quality of this easy-to-make pie recipe are the graham crackers (which soften when you refrigerate this dish), and act like a crust layer. The yummy pineapple chunks, chopped nuts, shredded coconut and Cool whip don't hurt either. Top it off with some sweet Maraschino cherries, and that first bite is bound to taste like a million bucks!

Chilling Time: 4 hr

Ingredients
  • 1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained and 2 tablespoons juice set aside
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 (8-ounce) container frozen whipped topping
  • 2 prepared graham cracker crusts
  • Maraschino cherries with stems, pecan halves, shredded coconut (for garnish)

If you liked this Million Dollar Pie recipe, but are more of a cake person, try this Millionaire's Cake (also from our test kitchen), and see which you prefer!

Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl combine all of the pineapple, all of the condensed milk and the reserved pineapple juice.  Add half of the nuts and coconut, reserving the remainder.

  2. Fold in the whipped topping carefully and spoon equal amounts into each of the prepared crusts.  Sprinkle the top of the pies with the remaining chopped nuts and coconut.

  3. Drain the cherries and pat them completely dry on paper towels.  Decorate the top of the pie with the pecan halves, the cherries and a final sprinkle of coconut if desired.  Cover lightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours.  Remove from the freezer about 20 minutes before cutting to serve.

Editor's Note:
  • These pies are perfect to take to a party to serve a crowd; they are impressive and yet only take a few pantry ingredients and a very few minutes to prepare.
  • This recipe makes 2 pies, eaching serving 6-8 slices.

I like that these don't need to be baked. Good for summer when we're trying not to heat up the house.

This looks like a million bucks! I must try this. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.

I would definately step this up a bit by toasting 1 cup shredded coconut and 1/2 cup chopped pecans and re work the gramam cracker crust with a 1/4 cup melted butter and half of the above coconut and pecan mixed in the crushed graham cracker crust in a bowl and and pressed back in pie pan and then add the filliing mixture ( which I would use chopped mango instead of peaches) and top the pie with the remaining half of the toasted coconut and pecans ! Welcome to the tropics !
