LOVE this easy take on key lime pie. It has always seemed so daunting to make, but this looks awesome.

I always thought that key lime pie would be so challenging to make but this recipe is so very simple! Thank you for the suggestions about using fresh cream or real whipped cream instead of the cool whip! Do you substitute the exact same amount (16 oz of cool whip) if you use those other options?!

Key Lime Pie is not at all well known here in South Africa but since I was first introduced to it about 10 years ago it has been one of my best delicious go to desserts and this recipe is particularly good! When I dont have any Cool Whip I replace it with fresh cream which is what I did for this recipe and it was very very yummy!

I make this often to take to my office for my co-workers. I vary it by using different flavors of jello and yogurt, and it is always a hit. So easy to make, which I'm glad because it is always requested whenever we have a special function at work. Sometimes I'll make "just because" I know everyone enjoys it.

Maybe oh so delicious, but also "oh so wrong!" Cool Whip is not healthy because it's made from hydrogenated oil! It would be better to use a whole food, such as real whipped cream!
