Easy Three Cheese Macaroni

Nothing says comfort food like an easy macaroni and cheese recipe. This delicious dish is made with three cheeses to make for one of the creamiest dishes you can desire. Baked until golden brown, the crisp layer on top will have your mouth watering. So, get out your casserole dish and enjoy Easy Three Cheese Macaroni for dinner tonight.

Preparation Time: 20 min

Cooking Time: 15 min

Ingredients
  • 4 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1/4 butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup Breakstone's of Knudsens sour cream
  • 8 ounces Kraft shredded three cheese with a touch of Philidelphia
  • 6 ounces Fresh Take southwest three cheese recipe cheese breadcrumb mix, mixed together
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Coook macaroni as directed on package, omitting salt.
     
  3. Meanwhile, melt butter in large saucepan on low heat. Stir in flour and red pepper; cook and stir 2 min. or until bubbly.
     
  4. Gradually stir in milk; cook on medium heat 3 to 5 min. or until mixture comes to boil, stirring constantly.
     
  5. Stir in sour cream; simmer on low heat 3 to 5 min. or until thickened.
     
  6. Add shredded cheese; cook and stir 2 min. or until melted.
     
  7. Drain macaroni. Add to sauce. Spoon into 1-1/2-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with Fresh Take.
     
  8. Bake 15 min. or until heated through.
