Easy Spaghetti

Ingredients
  • 1 pound spaghetti pasta
  • 1 jar (28 oz) spaghetti sauce (any kind will do)
  • 4 ounces canned mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c red wine
  • 1/2 pound hot italian sausage
Instructions

Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain. Brown the sausage in large saucepan. Add the onions and cook until almost tender. Add the mushrooms and red wine. Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add the spaghetti sauce, cook over medium low heat for 15 minutes. The sauce gets better the longer you cook it. Serve the sauce over the pasta and top with grated parmesan cheese (optional). Variations: try adding green and/or red peppers, sundried tomatoes, or garlic. This can be as elaborate or as simple as you like!
