Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • 2 medium onions
  • 4 sprigs parsley
  • 1 large green pepper seeded and cut into 12 pieces
  • 2 large cans (6 cups) whole tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions

In 3 quart saucepan heat oil. Chop garlic, onions and parsley finely. Add to saucepan and saute. Chop pepper. Add to onions and saute over medium heat about 10 minutes. Chop tomatoes coarsely and add. Stir in seasoning. Simmer uncovered until thick, about 2 hours. Freeze in 2 cup containers. For Spaghetti Sauce 1 lb. ground beef, cooked 2 cups marinara sauce 1 cup tomato sauce
