Healthy Whole Wheat Waffles

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup oil (scant)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips - optional
Instructions

Mix all of above ingredients together well. Mixture will be thick. Pour into prepared waffle iron and add chocolate chips ,if desired, just before baking. Note: Adding chocolate chips to your batter usually results in the chips dropping to the bottom of the batter. It is preferable to add them as you prepare each waffle, adding as many as desired.
