Belgian Waffles

Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar or 1 Tbsp. honey (for browning)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 egg whites, beaten
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 3 cups milk, warmed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Continue beating adding butter first then milk; add dry ingredients; beat. Fold in egg whites. Pour batter onto hot Belgian waffle maker. (For a 2 square waffle, use 3/4 to 1 cup batter.) Serve with butter, maple syrup, whipped cream, fresh strawberries, blueberries, sliced kiwi, peaches, etc. Makes 9 to 10 waffles.
