Banana Fruit Pie

Oreo cookie pie crust recipes are the perfect touch to any pie - in particular, it\'s my pick of the 3 crusts available for this delicious banana fruit pie. It adds that special chocolatey flavor that we all know and love, and the texture is just right.

Ingredients
  • 120 grams margarine
  • 350 grams powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 bananas, sliced lengthwise
  • 600 grams chunk pineapple, drained
  • 600 grams whole strawberries
  • 250 milliliters whipping cream
  • chopped nuts, for garnish
Instructions
  1. Choose from the three crust selections below and bake and cool it.
     
  2. Whip margarine, sugar, and egg with electric mixer and spread over cooled crust.
     
  3. Place bananas, cut side down, on top of that layer.
     
  4. Spread on the pineapple chunks, then the strawberry.
     
  5. Whip the cream, cover the whole dish with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nuts.
     
  6. Refrigerate 4 hours before serving.

 

CRUST SELECTIONS

 

Graham Cracker Crust

 

Ingredients

  • 180 grams graham cracker crumbs
  • 60 grams margarine

Instructions

  1. Mix and press in bottom of a 20x30cm pan.
     
  2. Bake 10 minutes at 175C degrees. Cool.

 

Shortbread Crust

 

Ingredients

  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 95 grams sugar 
  • 240 grams  soft margarine
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2.5 milliliters vanilla

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients thoroughly.
     
  2. Pat dough on bottom of a pan.
     
  3. Bake at 200C degrees about 10 minutes or until golden brown; cool.

 

Oreo Cookie Crust

 

Ingredients

  • 32 Oreo cookies 
  • 160 grams melted margarine

Instructions

  1. Crush cookies and mix them with the margarine.
     
  2. Press mixture in bottom of pan.
