Toffee Bars

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/4 ts salt
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c chocolate chips
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 c flour
  • 1/4 c nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 ts vanilla

Yield: 6 servings. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add egg yolk, flour, vanilla and salt. Spread in 8x8 glass baking dish. Microwave at 50% power for 7 to 8 minutes. Give 1/2 turn twice during cooking. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Let chips soften for 2 minutes. Spread with knife over bars. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut into bars.
