Cream Cheese Cookie Frosting

Ingredients

  • 8oz pkg cream cheese or light cream cheese
  • 16 ounces box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Wilton color pastes

Instructions

Let cream cheese come to room temperature. Mix in powder sugar until smooth. Add vanilla. Mix in desired color pastes. Frost cookies and let frosting completely dry, about 1 hour. Store layers of cookies with wax paper in between. You can use food coloring, but you will need a little more powder sugar. The wilton pastes are great, very color intense and they have no taste red and even black!

So I know that this says cookie frosting, but I decided to try this on some brownies. This is amazing on brownies! It is a very quick frosting that tastes wonderful with chocolate. I did use any coloring. I just wanted the cream cheese frosting on top the brownies, and this was exactly what I was looking for. Needless to say that the brownies disappeared, and there were no leftovers. I will be making this again for my brownies, and I would definitely try this on cookies too!
