Although I did not enjoy the rolled up bread everyone else looked at me as though I was quite mad. I guess, then, that the only thing to say is that everyone enjoyed them, except me. The filling is truly delicious, though, and after these Baked Apple Pie Roll Ups have been baked with the cinnamon and sugar they really are Very Good!

I've recently come across several recipes that start with slices of flattened bread. This is a really neat idea for a quick treat. I'm curious about how well this works with breads other that the basic plain white. Do the multi-grain breads hold up as well as white bread does? If so, it'd be great to try it with one of those. I can't wait to try this with some vanilla ice cream.

I recently saw a recipe like this on a cooking show but with cream cheese in the center, kind of like a stuffed French toast. This version looks even better! I bet if you took the bread slices and rolled them flat with rolling pin they would get even crispier when baking and would hold the filling easier. I don't buy regular white bread anymore, but the 12 grain bread I use would be even healthier, and might even give them a little bit of a nutty flavor. Peanut butter and jelly in the center could make a fun lunch for the kids! I will have to try these very soon. Thanks!

Personally ,I would prefer the thin pastry dough. I was skeptical to make it but my family wanted something special last night so I thought, why not! They loved it. I think the cinnamon and apply can give a special taste to anything. Even to bread.

I will have to try this. My family loves apple pie. When I saw that it called for bread I was wondering how that would taste. I guess it would taste like cinnamon toast. How do you keep the apple filling from coming out when you roll it in butter and sugar/cinnamon mix?

When the description said bread, I assumed that it meant unbaked bread and the bread baked in the oven. But, you use store bought sliced bread. It is a pretty simple recipe for beginning cooks or someone that wants something quick and easy. Apples and cinnamon and sugar, oh my!

These apple pie roll-ups look delicious! I am definitely going to try these. You could even make your own apple pie filling. There is a recipe for that right here on this website! I think the cream cheese and sugar would make these extra special. I would make these for breakfast, too. Since they are so quick to make they would be great for appetizers for a party.

These are so cute! I think this would be good to bring for a dinner party.
