No Cook Vanilla Custard Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

Beat egg substitute, sugar and salt until frothy and light yellow in color. Mix in whipping cream and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Pour into machine for 20-30 minutes. (read your machines instructions for the amount of chilling time). Low fat version: substitute chilled no-fat evaporated skim milk for the heavy cream. Low fat Sugar free version: substitute 3 cups chilled no-fat evaporated skim milk for the heavy cream and 1/2 cup sugar free sweetener for the sugar. Fresh fruit version: puree 1/4 cup frozen or fresh fruit and 1/4 cup jam made from the same fruit (ie; strawberry, blueberry, etc) mix into the vanilla ice cream before add to the machine. Fruit syrup version: mix 1/2 cup fruit syrup made from crushed fruit and add to the vanilla ice cream before adding to the machine. Cookies & Cream: After adding vanilla ice cream to the machine, pour 1/2 cup or crushed oreos into the machine while churning. Chocolate Cookie dough: after pouring vanilla ice cream to the machine, pour 1/2 cup refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough through the opening of the machine. Mint Chocolate Chip: add 1/2 tsp. mint extract and 1 tsp. green food coloring during the first step. After you pour the vanilla ice cream in the machine, pour 1/2 cup mini chips or 1/2 cup crushed chocolate bar through the opening. Cherry Chip: add 1 tsp. red food coloring at the first step. After pouring vanilla ice cream in the machine, add 1/4 cup mini chips and 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries through the top.
