Dirty Snowballs

They may have a funny sounding name, but these Dirty Snowballs are seriously delicious. Coated in a thin layer of powdered sugar, these chocolate balls are a dream come true for anyone with a sweet tooth. As the dark chocolate peeks through the white layer of sugar coating, you can see where these Dirty Snowballs got their name. If you're looking for unique chocolate dessert recipes to make, especially during the winter, try out these snow-themed treats!

Cooking Time: 12 min

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 ounces chocolate, unsweetened
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave.
     
  2. Combine melted chocolate, granulated sugar, vanilla and vegetable oil in a mixer.
     
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well each time.
     
  4. Sift (or stir) together flour and baking powder, then add to wet mixture. Mix well.
     
  5. Let stand in refrigerator for a few hours or overnight.
     
  6. Roll dough into small balls (no more than about 1 inch in diameter) and roll in powdered sugar until coated.
     
  7. Bake for 12 minutes in a preheated 350 degree F oven.
