Black Raven Bog with Vanilla Fog

Serves: 6

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/8 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 loaf pre-sliced, white bread cut into ½ inch cubes
  • 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate or carob chips
  • 3 ripe bananas, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla or maple flavored yogurt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, vanilla, eggs, cream, milk and cocoa powder.
     
  3. Add bread cubes and toss.
     
  4. Add chocolate or carob and bananas to bread mixture and toss.
     
  5. Spray a 8-inch x 4 ½-inch x 2 ½ -inch loaf pan with cooking spray to coat.
     
  6. Fill with bread mixture.
     
  7. Bake uncovered 1 hour and 15 minutes until top is slightly crisp.
     
  8. Allow the “bog” to cool slightly and firm up in the pan.
     
  9. Remove from pan and cut into slices.
     
  10. Serve warm with vanilla or maple flavored yogurt drizzled on top.
