Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • approximately 2 to 4 cups flour
  • lemon, vanilla or spices

Instructions

Blend butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add buttermilk, baking soda, flavoring and enough flour to form a soft dough. Chill dough before rolling 1/4-inch thick and cut. Bake in 350 degree oven until slightly browned.
