Oh my word, I have to make this. It sounds delicious. I love pecans and coconut with chocolate. This won't last long if it is on the table with my sister and I. I think walnuts would be good too. You could certainly use or leave out any extra ingredient like nuts that you want or need to SissieSass.

I know you are supposed to use nuts in German chocolate desserts, but can you omit them in this recipe and still make it work? I have an allergic child and need to find something tasty without tree nuts. I love the ingredients in this cake, just need to get rid of the nuts or use peanuts or sunflower seeds instead.

Oh boy, I really want to make this, but my family doesn't like coconut. I would be forced to eat the whole cake! I need to think of a get-together to bake for. I love chocolate, coconut, and pecans.

Yum! I am not really a cake mix person. I prefer making from scratch, but that works. Just use your favorite cake recipe and use that in replace of the egg/oil/water/cake mix in recipe and do everything else the same. It's rich just like the name says. Coconut and chocolate chips are great added to anything.

This recipe looks SO delicious - I can't wait to try it! A really yummy variation on cake-from a box chocolate cake, with some unexpected ingredients. The combination of chocolate, coconut and pecans along with cream cheese sounds out of this world! This would make a great birthday cake or treat to bring into the office or dinner party. Yummy!
