Cheesy Chicken and Noodle Casserole

This Cheesy Chicken and Noodle Casserole is a traditional casserole that will win you over with its creamy sauce and cheesy top. For some extra flavor, layer fresh mushrooms or broccoli into the casserole.

Ingredients

1/2 pound noodles
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cups cooked chicken
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons flour
2 cups chicken broth (bouillon)
1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

Cook noodles according to package directions and drain.
Season with pepper, Parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup Swiss cheese.
While the noodles are cooking, dice the chicken into 1/2 inch pieces and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place noodles in greased 3 quart casserole and top with chicken.
Melt butter, add flour and cook 2 minutes.
Add broth and cream and cook until thick and smooth.
Pour this sauce over the noodles and chicken and sprinkle with remaining Swiss cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes.
