Homemade Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-pound) bag frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 10 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 8 ounces Cheddar or Colby cheese, shredded
  • 1 (10-1/2-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. In a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, make single layers of the following: Potatoes, onions, 6 tablespoons melted margarine, sour cream, Cheddar cheese and soup.
     
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle 4 tablespoons margarine over top.
     
  4. Bake for 1 hour or until bubbly and piping hot.
