Four Layer Hamburger and Macaroni Casserole

Do yourself a favor and make an easy casserole recipe for dinner tonight. Layered with macaroni and cheese, ground beef, and more cheese, it seems impossible to deny a second serving. Meaty, cheesy and baked to perfection, it's greatness on a plate.

Ingredients
  • 1 package of macaroni and cheese
  • 8 ounces lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons Ortega taco seasoning mix - regular
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/3 crushed potato or totilla chips
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese. shredded
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
     
  2. Combine beef and seasoning mix in large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.
     
  3. Cook macaroni and cheese according to package.
     
  4. Combine one package macaroni and cheese and sour cream in medium bowl; spread over bottom of 8-inch-square baking dish.
     
  5. Top with beef mixture. Spread remaining package macaroni and cheese over beef mixture; top with tomato, potato chips and cheese.
     
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly around edges.
