Beer Brat Casserole


Enjoy your beer bratwurst all year round with this fantastic Beer Brat Casserole. Cooked with potatoes, garlic and beer, not a flavor is lost in this great casserole recipe. Treat your family with a cookout, indoors.

  • 5 links beer bratwrust
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 medium size green pepper, diced
  • 3 medium red potatoes, diced
  • 1 can (24-ounces) pork and beans
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 tablespoons sweet basil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cans beer
  • 2 teaspoons jalapeno hot sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound pasta
  • 2 cups rice
  1. Cut bratwrust into 1/4-inch pieces. Fry with oil and garlic in large sauce pan.
  2. When meat is almost done add onions, green peppers, and potatoes. Cook at strong simmer for about 15 minutes.
  3. Add the can of pork and beans, cumin, basil, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Lightly simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add beer, bring to a hard simmer, then lower heat to a simmer.   Cover the pan and cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. It is your choice to use pasta or rice. Cook as per directions on package. Spoon pasta in soup bowl then cover with Bratwrust Delight.
