Ingredients
  • 1 pound pecan halves
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 t cream of tartar
  • 1 c water
  • 1/2 t salt
Instructions

Bring water to a boil, add salt, cream of tartar, and sugar. Cook until sugar begins to caramelize (this is past the hard-crack stage). Mix in pecan halves, remove from heat, and QUICKLY, drop in spoonsful on a cold, greased sheet.
