Almond Paste for Pastries

Create an almond paste in under 3 minutes. This nutty, sweet concoction is delicious when mixed into cookies, used as a cake filling or a flavoring in layer bars.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup blanched almonds
  • 2 tablespoons fruit sweetener or corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
  1. Process almonds in food processor until very finely ground. Mix in sweetener and extracts.
     
  2. Cut butter into 6 pieces. While processor is running, add butter pieces and process for 30 seconds until well combined.
