Velvet Crumb Cake

Serves: 8

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups Bisquick Reduced Fat baking mix
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
     
  2. Grease and flour 8-inch round pan.
     
  3. Beat Bisquick mix, granulated sugar, water, shortening, vanilla and egg in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
     
  4. Pour into pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool slightly.
     
  5. Prepare topping by combining coconut, brown sugar nuts, butter and milk; spread over cake.
     
  6. Set oven control to Broil. Broil about 3 inches from heat about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
